If you've read some of this site, you are probably wondering what gives me the right to offer what I do?
As a youngster, things didn't look too great. I left school at 15 and initially worked as an apprentice hairdresser. I later returned to school, gained a clutch of GCSEs and landed a job as a trainee accountant - more by luck than judgement. But adding up rows of numbers wasn’t really for me.
I was fortunate enough to be involved in a management buy-out of the business I was working for, and spearheaded d&t's growth. This business is now a multi-million turnover accounting practice, which has won several industry awards and has many high street names as clients.
I've also invested in other businesses, including a business brokerage, a financial services business and a fintech startup (all of which I took a non-executive role in); and have invested in other startups including a home automation business, a social media platform and a mobile app.
I currently serve as an elected director of the British Franchise Association, and an ambassador for IPSE (the trade body for the self employed).
During my business life, I have bought and sold businesses, and have been on the ups and downs of running businesses. I've also had the opportunity to advise thousands of business owners who are going through the journey themselves.
I have no day to day involvement in any of my business interests, so if you'd like to approach them about working together, please contact them directly. If however you would like to discuss anything else, please get in touch.
